March 2013 Photo Highlights

Artists, auctions, and acrobats, oh my! Looking back at March 2013 at PNCA

Every month or so, we present to you a few photos that capture the spirit of the community at PNCA. These snapshots celebrate recent accomplishments and memorable moments from life at the College.

PNCA is far more than bricks and mortar buildings and expanding acreage. The spirit of PNCA thrives in the minds and hands of its students, faculty, and alumni, and in the hearts of committed and visionary community members. We saw that spirit this past month in the College’s Fifth Annual Benefit Art Auction, which raised money for student scholarships; in the striking artwork of high-school Scholastic Art Awards winners from around Portland; in the quality of work at First Thursday and in the Philip Feldman Gallery + Project Space; in the out-of-the-box thinking by young artists in our Continuing Education youth programs; and in the ways in which this past month’s visiting artists – Pearl Fryar, Doug Ischar, and Geoffrey Mann, among others – challenged us to rethink our preconceptions. The photos below represent just a few of the many spontaneous moments of creativity at PNCA.
