John Summerson Awarded Grand Prize in Art of the Pixel Competition
Selected from 300 artists from nine of the nation's top art schools, the Media Arts major wins $5000
PNCA’s John Summerson (‘15) was awarded the Grand Prize in LG’s Art of the Pixel competition at a celebrity gala award ceremony in New York. His short animated film, “Painting from Life,” was chosen from 300 entries from nine of the nation’s top art schools. Summerson’s work garnered him a $5000 award while PNCA also received a $50,000 grant from LG to support arts education. Summerson, a Media Arts major with a concentration in Animated Arts, attended the ceremony with his faculty mentor and lead faculty of the Animated Arts program, Rose Bond.
