Darja Bajagić (BFA ’12) and Yale MFA student interviewed with Editor of aqnp, Jean Kay. In the interview, Darja Bajagić answers questions about the ‘gaze,’ empowerment, and what it’s like to be a woman artist whose questioned about her personal connection to her work rather than its formal perspective. Darja Bajagić claims not to be an activist, because women don’t need saving and explains in the interview, “I still have this desire for these images to force people to see them for, not really for what they are, but what they give on a formal or visual level.” In recent news, prominent art critic Jerry Saltz boasted her work to be one of the most notable artists showing on the Lower East Side.
