Malaska featured in Oregon Artswatch

Elizabeth Malaska (VS ‘11) has been featured in Oregon Artswatch and is exhibiting at Nationale. Malaska is having a second solo show at Nationale entitled When We Dead Awaken. In Oregon Artswatch, PNCA faculty member, Sarah Sentilles, describes how Malaska paints figures, “Malaska has painted bodies that push back against the people looking at them. They can defend themselves. They have guns. They can disappear into their surroundings. They are, perhaps, more in charge of your gaze than you are.” Malaska has also shown at Froelick Gallery, Disjecta, Portland Center Stage, and San Francisco’s California College of the Arts.
