Portland Monthly gives advice in the article, How to Start an Art Collection -and the 5 Galleries that Will Help it Grow, and names three PNCA alumni as prime examples of where to begin. MFA Visual Studies alumnus, Delaney Allen (‘10) is mentioned for his photography works of obscured portraiture and landscapes at Nationale as is another graduate from the MFA in Visual Studies program, Samantha Wall (‘11), for her portraits of women at Laura Russo. BFA alumna in General Fine Arts, Brenna Murphy (‘09) is also noted her work at the Upfor Gallery. The illustration for the Portland Monthly article was done by another PNCA alum, Matty Newton, (‘13).
