Anthony Hudson ('10) is interviewed by the Portland Mercury on his performance work.

Large curls that tower from above with garish eye shadow and mascara to boot is how Carla Rossi prepares for her performances. Carla Rossi is known as Portland’s Premier Drag Clown. Carla Rossi has been performed by Anthony Hudson (‘13) since 2010. Jenn Lechner of the Portland Mercury recently interviewed Hudson on his creative practice and what he anticipates to do next. Hudson explained to Lechner that the concept of Carla Rossi emerged while attending PNCA, and eventually turned into an invitation to perform at PICA’s Time-Based Art Festival two consecutive years in a show called, Critical Mascara. Anthony Hudson has exhibited at multiple venues since graduation, and has recently completed a portion of Carla Rossi: To Indignity and Beyond, at the Hollywood Theatre’s first media residency. Later on this year, Hudson has plans on performing at the Austin International Drag Festival and Oregon Jewish Museum.
