Mapping Festival Geneva
Really excited about this festival in Geneva involving large scale projection mapping. It should be quite fascinating as I am working with video and projections for the first time in my ‘Interaction’ class.
Below is some footage from last year’s festival…really impressive stuff

Little Bastards
I’ve found that Fasnacht during the day is very much for the children, who run around in masks that weigh more than they do and toss candy and confetti at everyone in sight…
Nighttime however, is a completely different game. There are still thousands of people wandering the streets, mostly from bar to bar and occasionally buying you and your table lots of alcohol and contributing to the next day hangover, despite the ridiculously marked up prices that come with carnivale.

Housing
Residence in Basel…somewhat less ugly on the inside. Both the French and German borders are within a few minutes walking distace, but I’m desperately in need of a bicycle as its a few kilometers from the town center. Living with about ten other students (1 Italian, 1 Sicilian, 1 Australian, 1 Spainiard, 1 Iranian, 1 Greek, 1 American, 1 French, 1 Chinese, 1 Estonian)
