Editor-in-Chief of Metropolis magazine Susan S. Szenasy leads a panel discussion, "Green with Envy: How Innovative is PDX in the Quest for a Sustainable City?"
Susan S. Szenasy, Editor-in-Chief of Metropolis magazine leads a conversation, Green with Envy: How Innovative is PDX in the Quest for a Sustainable City?, exploring internationally recognized sustainable communities, examining the capacity to successfully merge art, commerce, higher education and urban planning. Panelists included PNCA President Tom Manley, Susan Anderson, Greg Baldwin, Mark Edlen, Randy Gragg and Scott Lewis.
As Editor-in-Chief since 1986, Szenasy is internationally recognized as an authority on sustainability and design. Szenasy is in Portland as a distinguished guest of PNCA, where she will receive an honorary doctorate and deliver the 2008 commencement address.
The panel is part of a series of Idea Studios programs, generating from the College’s innovative Ford Institute of Visual Education (FIVE). Idea Studios engages leading thinkers and artists from a range of fields and practices to enrich the mix of ideas within the College and its broader community by introducing new elements, questions, possibilities and challenges to the prevailing curriculum.
