Pacific Northwest College of Art welcomes Printed Matter’s associate director Max Schumann for the opening of Learn to Read Art: A History of Printed Matter, curated by AA Bronson, in the Philip Feldman Gallery + Project Space. Founded in 1976 by a collective of artists and art workers, Printed Matter is an essential voice in the examination and interrogation of the changing role of artists’ publications in the landscape of contemporary art. Max Schumann gives a walkthrough of the exhibition, sharing the history of the pioneering organization through its publications and editions.
