Graduate Lecture: Luis Camnitzer

German-born conceptual artist Luis Camnitzer speaks for the MFA in Applied Craft and Design and Portland State University as part of the 2011–2012 Graduate Visiting Artist Lecture Series.

German-born conceptual artist Luis Camnitzer combines imagery and language in a variety of media, including installation, painting, drawing and photography. His work examines issues of power and commodification and breaks down the limitations, divisions and questions that define the center versus the periphery. Though some of his work deals with explicitly political content, he states that all of his work is deeply political in the sense of wanting to change society.

Co-sponsored by Portland State University.
